Purposeful ACTION - Always - Leaves Evidence of Success
Ty Howard

“What we do in life echoes in eternity.”
(from the movie Gladiator, 2000)

Nothing happens until someone takes action. I mean, nothing. I'm not referring solely to movement or being busy just to be busy; I'm talking about—focused, planned, resilient, persevering and self-driven Purposeful ACTION.

We learn about the importance of having, setting, and accomplishing goals by the third or fourth grade in elementary school, some sooner. We are taught to plan, practice, rehearse, dig-in, endure pain, push through our limits, stay focus, be resilient, and not quit until we blow past the finish line in victory. Walt Disney, Mother Teresa, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Helen Keller, Michael Jordan and Cathy Hughes, to name a few, were all able to capture their visions and dreams through Purposeful ACTION.

Sometimes, purposeful action requires us to do what's unpopular, taking a deliberate stance to focus, struggle, sacrifice, minimize distractions, persist, triumph and win; while many others continue on daily, stuck in their same old routine, day in and day out; achieving nothing meaningful and feeling unfulfilled in the end.

While I strive to adopt and master the skills of focus, overcoming struggle, sacrifice, persistence, resilience, triumph and winning—I think the most important lesson I've learned is Purposeful ACTION - Always - Leaves Evidence of Success! It's been said and is definitely true, "Purposeful ACTION does speak louder than words." In this issue, I interviewed Larry Winget, The Pitbull of Personal Development®, on Purposeful ACTION; and Donna Lynn, health and fitness guru, on how we all can motivate ourselves to get fit and live healthy. We have brought together some incredible interviews, articles, audios, videos, examples, how to's and strategies that will assist you in putting yourself onto the path to using continuous Purposeful ACTION every day.

Let's make a pact for the Year 2013: No more lips service. I hope this issue motivates you to move continuously forward with Purposeful ACTION so that you too can create and leave evidence of a fulfilling, purpose-driven and significant life.
